Ok, so we’ve preached onto you about Proton’s and Peugeot 205’s, but what other cars could you use ?? You can use your everyday road car if you are careful—but be warned !! It’s a slippery slope !! The more events you do, the quicker you will go and with it comes more chance of breaking it. I am not saying you will crash it ( although inevitably this sometimes does happen ), but there are some nasty potholes and jumps out there, that are not car friendly at speed. If you can afford it, you are best buying yourself a car for just doing events in—then if you do break it, you can still get to work on Monday morning ! And from a competitive point of view, you will drive it harder because you know it does not have to get you to work on Monday morning ! This car does not have to be flash, or super quick ( at this stage anyway ) - just cheap to run and fix. Don’t worry about Gti’s and Gte’s etc… - good ones can be hard to come by and generally more expensive than their more mundane stable mates. Have a look at the price of parts before you buy something—chances are you are going to be buying plenty of them. The following links will take you to other sites, that give you an insight into building other types of cars - If you know of any useful site for this section, please e-mail them to me, so I can have a look, and see if we can a few more cars added to the list. I’m sure that there are some “Experts” out there, who are mumbling “You don’t do it like that” or “Why haven’t they done a page on this car ?” - if that’s you - stick it down on an e-mail and send it to me !!!! And I’ll add the pages to this site, to cover it. Lets have a few more cars in this section !!! If nothing else, it’s a place to show your car off. If you don’t fancy building your own, or have not got the time or the expertise, have a look at this - “Midnight Motorsport Cars” |
